LGBT Interest Websites

Lesbianlife Blog
http://lesbianlife.youk.uk.com/index.shtm
A website run by Fiona Digan. The website hosts articles on LGBT life, and invites questions and debate on issues. Fiona Digan has spent most of her career working in social care.  Her main role has been in supporting young people and adults who were excluded in society due to a range of problems in their life. After 12 years in this field of work Fiona qualified as a counsellor and identified she wanted to provide support to those people who struggle to come to terms with their own or someone they know, sexual identity.

From Fiona:

Having spent so many years supporting people, I realised that I would like to give a voice to the gay community (whether they are lesbian, gay, bi-sexual or transgender) and to give information to the family and friends. It seems very clear to me that even now in this liberal 21st Century, this subject area still meets with a lot of worry, questions and curiosity!

So many people I have spoken with over the years have struggled with accepting their own or someone they know, sexual identity.  This has added to many of the problems in their life and these problems continue to exist. There is a lack of information around and internet searches on the subject often simply take you to porn sites instead of useful and helpful links!

So many times when people find out you’re a lesbian, they are surprised, curious and still ask a lot of questions about it! So, I wanted to offer information in the Articles to help and provide reassurance.  I also wanted to give an opportunity so that anyone can openly ask any question that are haunting them, without fear or embarrassment! Regardless of their own sexuality.
